Building Work Completion |
| The building work at Parsons Heath Medical Practice was completed in March as planned. We are very pleased with the three extra consulting rooms we have gained from the alterations. We apologise for any disruption during the building works. A big thanks to Mrs Jackie Hawkins Practice Manager at Parsons Heath who handled the extra work involved during the building works on top of her own heavy workload. |
Retirement of Mrs Tess Munson |
| Mrs Tess Munson has worked as a receptionist at Parsons Heath for 21 years. She is retiring at the end of April. We wish her a happy and active retirement and look forward to seeing her now and again in the years to come as she will be helping out with holiday relief cover in reception. |
Sick note to fit note – helping people stay in work |
| From April 2010 the provision of sick certificates changes. Instead of a sick note from now on the term fit note will be used.
The new fit note will be called the ‘Statement of Fitness for Work’ and will be used in England, Scotland and Wales. It will have more information than the present doctor’s sick note.
The main changes will mean:
your GP will be able to say if they think you are ‘not fit for work’ or ‘may be fit for work’ your GP can add advice to the note for your employer on how simple changes to the job you do may allow you to return to work earlier there will be fewer kinds of medical statements forms issued by GPs.
