I joined the practice in 1987 as a receptionist and my duties include booking appointments, dealing with patient queries and general duties to ensure the smooth running of the reception area. As the longest serving member of the reception team it is also my job to help with the training of new staff members joining the reception team.
In 1989,I answered an advertisement in the local newspaper for "Receptionist to work 5 afternoons a week." I applied and subsequently got the job.During this time, I have witnessed many changes within the practice. My job is varied, challenging, frustrating and sometimes heartbreaking but never dull. I enjoy it enormously. My colleagues are a dedicated team of professionals and a pleasure to work with.
Tess retired from regular work at the practice in May 2010. She is still helping out with holiday cover etc.
I started work in reception in Parsons Heath in April 2010 after 20 years as a travel agent. I am enjoying the challenge.
I moved to Colchester in September 2003 and after settling into our new home I applied to Parsons Heath for a receptionist job. I was lucky enough to be offered a part time post and started work in January 2004.
I am the newest member of the reception team and am thoroughly enjoying my new role. I have previously been employed as a Personal Assistant, in accounts, as a volunteer receptionist at St Helena Hospice and most recently in advertising. My hobbies include gardening, travel and researching family history.
I have only just joined the reception team and have to say I never realised there was so much involved in being a Doctor's receptionist! I am thoroughly enjoying my new job here where everyone is very friendly and helpful.(August 2007)
I joined the reception team in April 2008 and never imagined what I was letting myself in for! Special thanks to Margaret and Brenda who put up with me in those first few weeks. Everyone here has been great and I am enjoying every moment.
I joined Parsons Heath in August 2010. I previously worked as a hotel receptionist- what a difference. I am enjoying the challenge so far and have a lovely team to work with
