We provide a friendly confidential service for all contraception needs.
Emergency (also known as morning after) contraception
is available and can be supplied after consulting with any of the doctors, nurses or nurse practitioners. It can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex but the sooner the emergency contraception pills are taken the more effective they are, so please let reception know you need an urgent consultation for emergency contraception and it will be arranged after either a face to face or telephone consultation with a member of the medical or nursing team.
At present we are only able to supply hormonal emergency contraception (otherwise known as the morning after pill). If emergency contraception in the form of an IUCD (otherwise known as a coil) is needed (this can be used up to 5 days after unprotected intercourse) you will need to contact a local family planning clinic who may be able to help.
