REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS OVER HOLIDAY PERIOD

During the Christmas and New Year holiday period the Practice will be closed on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 30th, 31st December 2006 and 1st January 2007. Please hand in your repeat prescription requests in plenty of time to ensure that you do not run out of your medication over the Christmas and New Year period.

CHANGES TO BLOOD CLINICS AT ESSEX COUNTY HOSPITAL

The Essex County Hospital Blood Clinic open hours have changed to:
Monday, 8.30 am to 1.45 pm
Tuesday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 12.45 pm
Friday, 9.15 am to 10.45 am

CHANGE TO BABY/CHILD VACCINATION CLINIC AT THE SURGERY

From the 16th November 2006, the Baby/Child Vaccination Clinic held at the Surgery on a Friday will no longer run as a Drop-in Clinic. You will be required to make an appointment for your baby/child to be vaccinated at the Surgery. There are two bookable Clinics on a Thursday and Friday afternoon. If you are unable to attend these Clinics an appointment can be arranged with the Practice Nurse at another time where possible.

28 DAY PRESCRIBING

From now on when you order a repeat prescription the amount of medication you receive will be for no more than a 28 day supply. This is now the official Policy of North East Essex Primary Care Trust - for more information please read the patient information leaflet available from Reception/in Waiting Room or follow this link: Important Notice on Change to 28 day Repeat Prescribing December 2006word file symbol. We plan to phase in this change with all patients being switched gradually and it is hoped this will be completed by May 2007. There are some drugs which are packaged in 3 monthly amounts and will continue to be dispensed in these packs, eg contraceptive pills and hormone replacement therapy. We will always try to be flexible for holiday requirements.

FLU CLINICS

If you haven’t had your flu vaccination yet we are still running Clinics at the Surgery. The next Flu Clinic will be held on the 5th December 2006, 3.00 to 4.00 pm, for which you will need to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend this Clinic please contact Reception for information on any further Clinics planned or to be booked in with the Practice Nurse. Only patients aged 65+ or those at risk from chronic disease and in some cases Carers, are eligible for the flu vaccination.
