GP TRAINEE DOCTOR
Our first GP Trainee, Dr Subha, finished her 4 month training period at the Practice on the 30th November 2006 and we now welcome Dr Arslan Mahmood to the Practice for his 4 month period of further training under the supervision of
Dr Faerestrand.
TELECARE
Telecare is a new Project using the latest technology to help 4000 people from all over Essex maintain their health and independence at home, launched 11th December 2006. People expected to benefit from Telecare will include those with chronic (long term) conditions, eg Diabetes, COPD and people with very limited mobility because of severe physical impairment. The technology involves the use of sensors in a
person’s home, which constantly monitors aspects of their lifestyle, feeding
information to a Monitoring Centre where staff can respond to untoward situations by phoning the individual concerned, arranging a home visit, calling the Emergency
Services or by alerting family members. Essex County Council has been awarded central Government money over two years to roll out Telecare Services to 4000 people in Essex by March 2008. This Project is being run jointly by Essex Equipment
Service, Essex Rivers Healthcare NHS Trust, North East Essex Primary Care Trust and Colchester Catalyst Charity.
