Born and brought up locally I trained in London and worked in various hospitals across southern England before returning to Colchester to join the three year training scheme for general practice. I then lived and worked in the Middle East for two years helping with the training of rural primary heath care workers in Yemen. After coming back to Colchester again in 1986 I joined the practice in May 1987. I have a longstanding commitment to emergency medical care, I regularly attend emergencies in support of the Essex Ambulance Service crews. I also teach emergency medical skills to doctors and other healthcare workers.
Having become thoroughly fed up with the traffic congestion in Colchester and looking for a way to get some exercise, I now do much of my day to day travelling on a bicycle.
