A Nurse Led Clinic is held at the surgery for patients on warfarin. A finger prick blood test is taken and the result is available immediately and the patient is then advised on future dosage, test timing, lifestyle issues affecting warfarin use, other medications etc. Monitoring for patients taking Warfarin must be continuous and longterm.

This is available each winter for those in the at
risk groups (chronic heart disease, chronic respiratory disease including
asthma, diabetes, kidney disease, lowered immunity due to disease or treatment and chronic liver disease)
and for all those over 65. Some care workers and carers also should have flu jabs annually. Please check with reception the arrangements for
our annual vaccination days.We regret we are unable to provide the flu vaccine
to those patients who do not qualify by age and are not in at risk
groups.

Ear syringing is performed by a practice nurse on those over the age of 16 by appointment. Softening of the wax for at least 4 days with olive oil ear drops is necessary before syringing is done. An information leaflet is available at reception
Routine childhood immunisations are given by the nursing team. The immunisation clinics are held on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Parents/Guardians will be sent a reminder to let you know when your child is due an immunisation. The clinics are by appointment. Please do not bring ill children to this clinic.

These are held locally, please ask your midwife for details.
The District Nurse Team provides nursing care to patients unable to attend the primary care centres. Referral to this team is either by hospital, GP or other Health Care Professional. The team is based at St Edmunds Centre, Greenstead and can be contacted on 01206 747826. The office has an answerphone for messages when not attended.
