Flu Clinic

The Practice will be running a Flu Vaccination Clinic on: Saturday, 10th November 2007, 8.00 am to 12.00 noon
No appointment is necessary, just turn up to the above Clinic within the specified times.

Those eligible for a flu vaccination are patients aged 65 and over, or if you suffer from any of the medical conditions listed below, as you will fall into one of the risk groups:
  • Chronic Respiratory Disease (asthmatics taking regular preventative medication)
  • Chronic Heart Disease
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Chronic Liver Disease
  • Diabetes
  • Weak immune system
In addition to those aged 65 and over and those in the at risk groups, the Department of Health also recommends that Healthcare Workers are vaccinated to help protect themselves and their patients. People living or working in nursing or residential homes should be vaccinated. Also, if you are a home-based carer of someone who needs vaccinating, you too should discuss flu vaccination with your Practice Nurse.

It is going to be a very busy morning at the Surgery and we would ask that all patients who can park their car elsewhere to do so, as we are limiting the car parking facility for those patients who are disabled only.

Chelmsford & Colchester Breast Screening Service

All women aged 50 or over can have breast screening once every 3 years. Women aged 71 or over are able to make their own appointments by telephoning the number above.

Early Intervention in Psychosis Service for Young People (EIP)

The EIP Service tries to encourage recovery from psychosis by noticing the illness early on, providing helpful treatment at the beginning of the illness and working to help patients stay well. The EIP Service works with young people aged between 14-35 who might be experiencing psychosis for the first time. The Team will support a patient for as long as the patient feels they need the help, up to a limit of 3 years. The EIP Service will work closely with patients to provide a complete package of care designed to suit the patient’s personal needs.

Anyone can make a referral to the EIP Service, it could be a GP, family member, friend, school, patient’s can also self-refer. The office is open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. There is an answerphone outside of these hours. In the event of a crisis or emergency call the North Essex Resource Information Line for Mental Health: 0845 090 0909, this is open overnight from 4.00 pm to 8.00 am everyday.

Patients referred to the EIP Service:
- Firstly assessed as to whether the Service is right for them
- If referral accepted patients are assigned a Care Co-ordinator
