OVER 55- CHECK YOUR PULSE - CAMPAIGN BY THE BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION

AF is an abnormal heart rhythm. Around 800,000 people in the UK have it - roughly one in 100 - and mostly aged 55 and over.

You can check to see if you might have AF simply by feeling your pulse. Please follow this link on the BHF website to learn how to check your pulse and to learn more about the condition. Check Your Pulse - British Heart Foundation Campaign.

The British Heart Foundation are also running a phone line - the pulse hotline - to help you find out if you have undiagnosed AF, they've set up a dedicated phone line on 0300 333 2 333. By phoning the line you can hear examples of regular and irregular heartbeats, and get further advice on how to take your pulse. Please note that calls are charged at local rates, although if you are calling from your mobile your charges will vary according to your provider.
